The hills are alive! Catching up with the Adelaide Hills, including natural winemaker Anton von Klopper

Off to McLaren Vale today after a couple of days in the Adelaide Hills.  I can report that the Hills are alive and teeming with a heap of new (to me) names since I last visited in 2004, while major players like Shaw & Smith, Petaluma and Nepenthe have consolidated their strengths.

I’ll post a detailed report of my visit down the track but, meantime, speaking of new faces, here’s a video of my interview with natural winemaker Anton von Klopper.   I loved his beautiful range of single vineyard Pinot Noirs, one of which is currently en route to Blighty.   I’m wondering if UK distributors Les Caves de Pyrene will also be importing von Klopper’s ingenious olive oil sealed demi-johns of wine (pictured) – just the ticket for their natural wine bars!
