Taylor’s Scion gets its own website

My posts about Taylor’s Scion (here and here) have been very popular, so I thought readers would be interested to know that Taylor’s has launched a dedicated website for this rare pre-Phylloxera Port here.  It tells the story of Scion’s journey from its origins in a private cellar in the Douro Valley in 1855 to the present day when Taylor’s acquired two casks and moved them to its lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia.

If you’ve bought a “bottle” (Scion is packaged in a bespoke crystal decanter), you might also be interested to know that it is sealed with an antique seal, which the Port Wine Institute offered Taylor’s especially for Scion.   A seal was applied to each decanter as it was filled and registered by Taylor’s Head of Production, Lurdes Almeida, so Taylor’s can trace to whom each was supplied.
