Rei dos Leitões e peixe?

Still life – sardines in the sink [It spoils my alliteration, but I’m told these are in fact carapau – horse mackerel – not sardines].
Not least because it’s such a good match for Bairrada’s signature red grape, Baga. But make no mistake, you can eat terrific fish here. Even if the restaurant is called at Rei dos Leitões – King of Leitões!

It’s a favourite haunt of the region’s winemakers and I have eaten beautiful salt baked wild sea bass there. Yesterday, crab soup, followed by grilled dover sole.
All washed down rather nicely with the sparkling wines of Quinta dos Abibes. Post with tasting notes to follow.

Hi Sarah, Thanks for this great post! Reading your reviews makes me happy that I have a few bottles of (the regular) Noval from 2015 onwards!! All
Thanks for the suggestion. I know Lance Foyster quite well. However I have just found the Wine Society are now listing an Encruzado for £15.50
