To infinity & beyond: join me for the ultimate in Portuguese Wine Tours
I have some exciting news. In the coming year I’ll be leading two exceptional Portuguese wine tours for Blend All About Wine. My first Portuguese wine tour is to Oporto, Douro & Vinho Verde (22nd-28th June 2015). The second, to Madeira (5-9th October 2015).
And, when I say they will be exceptional, it is no idle boast. During our tailor-made themed visits with top Portuguese producers – established and cutting edge – we shall taste benchmark wines, including top tier cuvées, limited editions and rare museum stock. What’s not to like about an opportunity to taste Niepoort’s unique demi-john-aged Garrafeira Vintage Port 1977 or Henriques & Henriques Verdelho Solera Madeira 1898?

For special occasions only – Niepoort’s ultra-rare Garrafeira Port, this one celebrating one Dirk Niepoort’s 50th birthday
We have also worked into our programme exclusive opportunities to compare and contrast different vintages, house styles and terroir. Our guests will discover how very well top Vinho Verde ages. They will gain an insight into that great Portuguese tradition, the art of blending, the key to house style. We’ll put terroir under the microscope when, for example, we taste Wine & Soul’s single vineyard reds Pintas and Manoella alongside each other.
Our aim is to give our guests a first hand glimpse into what makes each region, estate and producer special and, big picture, what makes Portugal such a unique, dynamic and diverse wine country. And I haven’t even touched on the tip top gourmet experiences we have lined up, though you may have read about the restaurants as well as the wines in these pages.

Thanks for the suggestion. I know Lance Foyster quite well. However I have just found the Wine Society are now listing an Encruzado for £15.50
