The Harrow at Little Bedwyn Food and Wine Experience

Good weekend? I’m already looking forward to the weekend of 18-20 July when Roger & Sue Jones at The Harrow at Little Bedwyn will be sharing their love of Australian fine wining and dining. With its focus on seasonal, local British produce Roger’s cooking comes highly recommended, both by yours truly (and the Michelin Guide).

Here’s the low down on the weekend at which I’ll be hosting Saturday’s Food & Wine Matching Presentation & Lunch; to book phone 01672 870871 or email office@theharrowatlittlebedwyn.com

Friday 18 July: Bakery and Pastry Demonstration (11 am to 12.30 pm)

Master some bread making skills with an interactive demonstration by Doves Farm personnel using an array of their flours, including Spelt, Einkorn and Malthouse. Then the Harrow’s very own John Brown will be disclosing some of his secret pastry making techniques and simple ways to produce Michelin Star desserts. He will show case various techniques that have helped the Harrow gain and retain a Michelin Star for over 7 years.  Cost per person £35.00, followed by an optional 3 course lunch with wines + £35.00

Saturday 19 July: Food & Wine Matching Presentation & Lunch (11.30 am to 2.30 pm)

Come and be challenged with an array of Australian wines to be tasted with dishes that are outside the box. Does Chardonnay match curried Lobster or will Montgomery Cheddar be a better partner? Does Pinot Noir work best with fish or meat? The Harrow will have wine experts on hand to guide you through these dilemmas. These tastings and discussions will be followed by lunch on The Terrace matched with fine wines.  Cost per person: £65.00 (includes one Riedel Glass a bespoke Harrow Food and Wine Experience Apron to take home)

Sunday 20 July: Seafood Display and Demonstration (12.30 pm to 3.30pm)

Come and enjoy a glass or two of Jansz Vintage Cuvee whilst Roger demonstrates an array of seafood dishes including a fool’s guide to making Sushi. Learn new skills and if you’re lucky, get picked to help Roger while he guides you through plating up some Michelin starred seafood dishes that you can recreate at home. A seafood lunch will follow with some crisp fresh Australian Wines and a chance to heckle Roger with any further questions.  Cost £60.00 (includes Recipe Cards and a bespoke Harrow Food and Wine Experience Apron to take home)

Discounted local accommodation will be offered for the weekend by The Bear Hotel in Hungerford.
