A couple of delicious new releases from Pierro, Margaret River
My white August Wine of the Month is a Margaret River Chardonnay and here’s another beaut, also from the Wilyabrup region, plus a fine Cabernet blend.
Pierro Chardonnay 2009 (Margaret River)
Pierro are renowned for their Chardonnay and I reckon this is the best I’ve tasted yet. Bright yellow/gold with green glints it’s exceptionally pure and silkily focused with great line and length of ripe Sicilian lemon and white peach fruit. Discreet oak brings a subtle play of nougat to the finish. Very good. Love the texture. 14% abv £39 at Jeroboams and Milroys.
Pierro Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot LTCF 2008 (Margaret River)
Deep aubergine with a lifted and lipsmacking balsamic edge to its juicy blackcurrant and fleshy ripe plum fruit; riper notes of savoury black olive and dark chocolate add depth and layer. With its super supple tannins, though intense, this medium bodied Bordeaux blend (LTCF is a little touch of Cabernet Franc) is hard to resist now. 14% abv

Thanks for the suggestion. I know Lance Foyster quite well. However I have just found the Wine Society are now listing an Encruzado for £15.50
Hi Geoff, The Wine Soc do one offs. Maybe try contacting Clarke Foyster, Carlos Lucas' importer? V best Sarah
